DPW Returns (Finally!)

By stache at 2:05 pm on Monday, October 23, 2006

Last weekend, Sat. the 21st, October, Amy and I ran into a DPW member. We were partying Haaaaargh! as only a giant group of Pirate clad wino loonies can at Roshambo Winery in Healdsburg.

He was an interesting chap as most DPW folks tend to be. To wit:

  • He just returned about 2 weeks ago! That would be around October 7th. In other words, they hung out to clean and eat crappy food (and hope no more bad water rears is runny head… see Marcy’s last Quickies item) for about a month and a half in the dusty sun of BRC! Hearty folk indeed.
  • Also, he related an anecdote about finding tons of strange pills on the Playa. He said many avoided the mystery candy. He on the other hand was quick to volunteer when someone’s shout claimed another Playa pill. A lucky day might find a sweet ecstasy high. Sadly, one little blue goodie turned out to be Viagra and he spent four hours working with a head-strong hard-on! Ouch!

Bless the insane DPW, for we would have no Burning Man without them.

More Info

Description
It’s that time once again to reconnect with our Playa friends and all those that just would like to see why we’re having so much fun doing these crazy fun events. If you’ve wanted to see what Burning Man is like and the great people that are a part of it this, then is the place to be.

Wear your best Playa Wear. We like the creativity you bring. But don’t worry we won’t run you off if you don’t.

The cost is only $5. Where else can you get this much fun on a Saturday night for this little? Additional donations are always accepted for our other costs and to make future events even better.

We’ve had to move the event to another location other than Horse Cow Gallery this year. It’s in Herald, south of Elk Grove. But don’t let that stop you because this year were going to extra effort to make it worth your energy to make it out.

Bring your Playa toys, Art Cars, Burn Barrels and Art installations. Bring some of the things that were at your camps at Burning Man this year that you used to make them unique. There’s plenty of room to camp, so bring your tents or RV’s and camp with us. The event starts Saturday afternoon and will continue through the night until you run down.

We have a full lineup of great DJs well known all over the north state. So come ready to shake some booty!

There will be grills to cook on. Bring your favorite beverages and we will provide ice.

Most importantly we need you to make this a great event. We want to kick some ass on the SF Decom so let’s show them how we do it in the valley. Get the word out to all your friends!

Directions
Take Hwy 99 South (or I-5) from Elk Grove,
exit at Hwy 104 which is Twin Cities Rd, go east approx. 8miles and where Twin Cities Road makes a curve to the left (marked 45 mph) just before the Rancho Seco cooling towers, go straight! Don’t make the turn!
This is Clay East. Go to the top of the hill and turn right onto Kirkwood.
Follow Kirkwood to the end where it makes a right turn (15 mph) and becomes Montfort. Approx. 0.6 miles on the right side, look for 13585 and turn right through the green gate.
Follow the driveway past the shop building on the left and the party is there!

Call Dragon our host @ 916-548-8610 if there are any questions or if you get lost.
