Thanks, Paul, for your excellent reply! Best wishes in the future for what sounds like an amazing event in your expanding community of creative Burners. I’ll keep a look out for photos at the Afrika Burns site and around the web.

Hey Stache -
See pics from last year’s event here:

My campmates and I (from Camp AmaDeadly Disco) are off in 13 days to build a circus-themed camp and play music for five days. Looking forward to a bigger ‘n better Burn this year!
All the best from South Africa;
Travis

I am one of the organizers and will give you info. We just completed our second year’s event and we stage the event on a 12,000 acre private property 340 km form Cape Town in the middle of the Tankwa Karoo. The event takes place over 4 days however we are shifting it up to 5 and within the next 2 years it will be a full week. There were over 1000 people at this year’s evetn with over 19 registered Theme Camps and wellover 19 registered Art works. I built the central effigy which is based on a Koi San drawing, essentially form what I have found out is that it represents community. We had ,many burns this year, the main one on Saturday night and the South African community are making huge strides in participating in a gifting economy. Things can only get better
