2008 — Krank-Boom-Clank featuring the Hennepin Crawler

The Crawler is capable of both street and limited railroad track cruising. It is comprised of approximately 90%+ recycled materials, including:

Hennepin Crawler at Burning Man 2008

  • Discarded lawn furniture
  • VW Bug & antique Cadillac parts
  • Old wooden furniture
  • Industrial culvert pipe & aviation wire
  • Plenty of old bike bits
  • Other minor found parts

The Hennepin Crawler represents a melding of alternative transportation innovation, human-powered kinetic sculpture, recycling functional garbage, and a prankster’s notion of inflicting bewildering beauty upon an unsuspecting public.

2007 — The Ice-Flø

iceflo-burningman2007.jpgThe Ice-Flø was a thirty-two foot long, two story tall faux iceberg to transport Playa denizens within a comfy pillowed lounge, DJ booth and mini dance floor that converts to a live music stage, and all lit in the soft marine hues of a hapless chunk of melting ice, adrift across the open desert floor.
